Russell
Director
I started working at the Lodge at the start of 2006 as an instructor. I really enjoyed working with groups and helping people to develop new skills for both the outdoors and for life.
I was appointed Director (Centre Manager) at the end of 2007 which has given me a whole new set of challenges and refreshed some older ones.
I enjoy spending time in the outdoors and this is still very much a priority for me and my family. From tramping and camping to climbing and skiing, through to exploring everywhere and everything. |

Kerry
Senior Instructor
Known to most as "Pops". I was born at an early age and after a complete career change in 1998 I re-trained for three years in the outdoor industry where I gained National Qualifications.
I then followed my passion and got a job glacier guiding on the Franz Josef Glacier and also doing eco tours around the region for 8 years. I was part of the volunteer Fire Brigade and Ambulance, F.A.R.T. (Fox Alpine Rescue Team) and Land SAR (Search and Rescue).
I have always enjoyed working with youth so when the opportunity arose to work at the Rotoiti Outdoor Education Centre, I couldn't resist! Two years ago I moved to St Arnaud with my partner. I still love being outdoors; whether it is rock climbing, tramping, climbing mountains, fishing or mountain biking. In my spare time, if I am not listening to music, I will be busy competing in adventure races, trail running or multisport events.
So if you don't meet me at the Rotoiti Lodge I will probably see you stomping around in the outdoors. |

Sam
Instructor
I love working here at Rotoiti Lodge, perfect location, awesome access to lakes, mountains and rivers. It is great when I am not working as well because I have the National Park for my backyard which is good for me because I enjoy getting out into the bush and surrounding environment.
I studied at Tai Poutini Polytechnic on the West Coast and graduated after two years study from their Leadership and Guiding programme.
From Kayaking to mountaineering, the outdoors is a big playground for me and anybody with the skills to stay safe and enjoy it. |

Fiona Gear Shed and Support
Hi my name is Fiona. I have been working at Rotoiti Lodge for about 3 years now, and consider myself extremely lucky to have that privilege. At the Lodge I look after the gear shed, and do all sorts of other things to support the guys when needed.
