The Rotoiti Lodge provides an excellent venue for weddings, birthdays, family reunions and other functions. In lieu of charging a set venue fee on top of accommodation charges, the Rotoiti Lodge Trust charge $5.00 per day visitor (excluding those staying at the Lodge) to cover operating costs associated with having additional people in attendance. We believe this is a fairer cost to our clients than charging a set venue fee, as you only pay for those attending. Please ensure you include all day visitor numbers on the Visitor Record Form, which will be sent to you with your deposit receipt and booking confirmation letter once we receive your deposit.

The hall can be effectively decorated for weddings and other functions. Upon request, the Trust can provide calico drops for this purpose. Our 13 collapsible trestle tables  can be easily transformed into a more elegant form by throwing table cloths over them. The Lodge Trust does not provide table cloths, but these can be rented if required in either Nelson or Blenheim.

The tables measure 2.4 metres x 900 mm and eight people can be seated at each table. The Lodge provides basic crockery, cutlery and other kitchenware for around 100 people. If you require fancier service ware, such as stem glasses or attractive bowls, you will need to provide these.

If using candles, please be careful not to have too many burning in the hall, as they will continually set the smoke detectors off. One or two candles per table are not generally a problem. Also, please be mindful that if using candelabras or freestanding candlestick holders, candle wax may well drip on to the carpet, and will be difficult for you to clean up later.

Ring hooks have been attached to window frames for tying on balloons. The hall also looks great when decorated with shrubs or tree cuttings. If you want to do this,  Weyerhaeuser NZ, who manage the forestry blocks around St Arnaud, may provide you with a collection permit for cuttings upon application (ph 03 544 6035). Please do not bring weed species into the Park, such as hawthorn or rosehip cuttings to decorate the hall. You will need to remove all cuttings from the Lodge upon departure.

If you require local caterers for your function, the Rotoiti Lodge Manager can discuss options with you.
